The challenge

What stood in the way

Tonghai is known as China’s “home of vegetables”, with thousands of hectares of farmland. Short shelf life ruled out distant markets, and foam boxes with ice packs made transport expensive.

What we did

A process built for this crop

Synarise designed a biocell dormancy process for each single vegetable, matched to its own characteristics.

The result

What changed

Vegetables kept their original taste and fresh green look after 45–60 days. In November 2023 Tonghai broccoli was shipped to the Middle East by sea. In December the same line sent dragon fruit to the region by land.
